I guess every good thing should have a catchy beginning. My relationship with Austin did, he kissed me on a bench in France, and so we began. I told him I loved him after two weeks, we were watching Angela Landsbury school the Nazi's in Bedknobs and Broomsticks so of course it was romantic!! I left on an LDS mission about three months later and he wrote me every single week, we were engaged eight days after I got home. We were married three and a half months after that, he wore a brown suit and I had a white flower in my hair. Life=Bliss, only when you start adding things to that equation does it get muddy and unreliable. So for my very first entry:
Life + The Bakery + Egg Rolls = Pork
This morning on our drive to school we passed Ms. Backer's Bakery on S. Temple the way we always do. Everytime we pass it I remember that Austin promised to take me there several times last Spring....never happened. So with the dramatic flare of a woman whose husband has broken valuable promises to her I cried: "There's the bakery of broken promises!" Austin began to chuckle, you see I often comment about the bakery of broken promises, he then asked me to keep my dramatics to a minimal volume because I was drowning out talk radio. During our history class I sketched pictures of 'broken bakery promises' throughout his notes...he was not amused. He has promised to take me to the bakery next week.
I made egg rolls tonight, I haven't ever tried them before. Austin came home from his choir rehearsal late and I warmed him up two.
N-Did you like your egg rolls?
A-Yes they were very good.
N-Good! I've never tried them before.
A- Yes they were very good, but next time what could you do....instead of ground beef?
N- That was pork.
A- Oh instead of that.
N- Well I could do anything...chicken, beef, shrimp
A- yeah, those sound good, it just tasted, ya know, kinda like hamburger
N- yes but it was pork
A- oh.
