Life + DVD bins + Touching = Gas Prices

Today at school I walked down to the bottom floor and saw Austin standing by the newspaper racks. I went over to him and hooked arms with him and was giving him a nice affectionate squeeze when he gets this uncomfortable look on his face and starts to laugh: "ok Nicole you're touching me." As if its some awkward thing for your wife to touch your arm and hug in you public. But then I remembered...it is if you're Austin :)

We spent Thanksgiving in Las Vegas with Austin's family. It was a house full of Italians, and it was super fun! I'm not much of a Black Friday kind of person, but I'll venture out on Saturday...its not as black as Friday, more like Gray Saturday. Austin wanted to go to Best Buy because they were having some really good DVD sales. So 6 of us went Saturday night. We all were walking around kind of doing our own thing, when we were all herded together by Austin who was only missing one DVD he still wanted. He explained that it was suppose to be in one of those huge bins that they fill with DVD's and he wanted help digging through it. So we all went and began rummaging through this bin. Well Austin brings over a cart and starts enthusiastically piling DVD's into it in an effort to reach the bottom. It was really funny. I mean the man is uncomfortable hugging me in public, but he has no shame when it comes to DVD bargains. He got to the very bottom and there it was. Unbelievable. Congratulations honey.

There are some things in life you can consistently count on, things like: Lindsay Lohan going back to rehab, bad Twilight movies, and Austin's consistent rage at the gas prices in Centerville. His two favorite insults to hurl as we drive down Parrish Lane are 1- THIEVES!!! and
2-SWINDLERS!!! and he never fails to use at least one, sometimes both if he's feeling especially cheated. But we still buy our gas there, I suppose its just something he feels he needs to throw out into the universe as to alert Karma to the severe injustices we suffer as car owners.

  1. We drive by there every time I take him home - I've never heard him say such a thing - true self-restraint :)
