Pregnancy is kind of a wild ride. However, I really can't complain. I haven't thrown up once, and my nausea has been very minimal. The thing that has really gotten me is the fatigue. I promise you I could sleep 14 hours a day if my schedule allowed it. Austin has been very supportive and understanding. But we had the strangest conversation last week while I was lying on the couch. "Nicole, if our baby is ugly can I just say that so people don't feel like they need to tell us its cute?"
"Well how would you even do that honey? Everytime someone came up would you quickly say '"Oh, we know its not cute, you don't need to say anything."' and no, sweetie you can't say that. Our baby is going to be really cute with lots of dark hair and eyes that look like core samples of the Earth (Austin's eyes)."
My parents and my sister went to New York last week so Austin and I stayed at their house with my little brother. We both packed small bags so we wouldn't have to drive home everyday to get ready . The second day we were there Austin said to me, "We forgot my shampoo." It struck me as so funny. "I'm sorry sweetie I didn't realize I was suppose to bring your shampoo." We both just started laughing, because marriage is a partnership and dang it, if he forgets his shampoo, then I must have forgotten it too :)
Everyone has a favorite food, ya know that thing you are ALWAYS in the mood for. That single thing that, as you eat it, solves all the worlds problems, puts the greatest poetry to shame and rivals your best friend as your favorite company. Austin feels this way about....bread. Breadsticks, rolls, mall pretzels, anything stuffed in a croissant, pizza crust, crispy waffles, sandwich bread, banana, zucchinni, pumpkin, garlic, cheesy, homemade, restaurant, you name it, he loves it. So if you ever want to get on his good side....this is the most magical secret that could ever be posessed....and now the secret is....yours. You are welcome.
Oh man, excuse ME?! PREGNANCY!! I should punch you in the arm for finding out here. I will text you instead though. Lucky girl little sister. I remember when we went to New York so long, long, long ago...
ReplyDeleteAustin SOOOO would say that! And even if the baby isn't cute(which is not possible) you wouldn't even realize until it's out of the weird newborn stage :) I'm glad you haven't gotten sick, it's THE WORST!
ReplyDeleteHey Nicole, I dont' know if I've commented on your blog before or not. So, if not, hello! Congrats on the baby, I'm so excited for you! That is a funny story about the shampoo! I am just like your husband, bread is my BFF!!!
ReplyDeleteNicole, you were one of the cutest babies in the world. You can't help but have darling children.
ReplyDeleteKiki, thank you so much. Bread should be its own food group :)
ReplyDelete--Thanks mama.
